Music studies at Goldsmiths are distinctive and inclusive. You’ll have access to three large recording spaces with variable acoustics as well as suites of practice rooms and a recital hall. Explore some of these creative spaces to get an idea of what life as a Music student might look like. Thirty Five café

You are planning a busy and creative day, packed full of recording and rehearsals, so make sure you’ve had a caffeine fix to keep you going. If that’s not to your taste, Thirty Five Café in the Richard Hoggart Building has a good selection of alternatives, as well as plenty of breakfast options.

Recording studio

Goldsmiths Music Studios

Get to the recording studio early to make sure you have plenty of time to experiment and record your latest ideas. There are three large recording spaces to choose from as well as a range of equipment to use. If you are getting stuck, the expert engineers will be on hand help, so let your creativity run free.

College Green

After being in the studio all morning get a bit of fresh air on the College Green. You might be feeling inspired after your session so why not put on some headphones and grab a takeaway coffee while you enjoy the view.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall

You may find yourself spending your afternoons in regular rehearsals. The Great Hall is often the location for these rehearsals, with ensembles including the Goldsmiths Sinfonia, Chamber Choir, Composers Collective and Contemporary Music ensemble all using this as a practice space. Rehearsing is a great opportunity to socialise with your peers while getting ready for any upcoming recitals or concerts.

Students Union

Students’ Union (SU)

If you still haven’t had enough music for one day, it is worth keeping an eye on what’s on at the Students’ Union. There is often live music and club nights to keep you entertained in the evening, and there might even be an opportunity for you to perform.
