The College Green is a lovely place to spend a few quiet moments before your day of study begins. Being at the heart of the campus, it’s also a good spot to arrange to meet friends. If you’re in need of coffee or a morning snack, head to nearby Peak Street Café in the Professor Stuart Hall Building to get stocked up.

On a psychology degree you’ll be expected to undertake a fair bit of independent study in addition to attending lectures and seminars, and getting practical training in research methods and techniques. Head to the Library to spend a few hours catching up on your reading, making a start on your next assignment, or getting advice from the psychology Subject Librarian.

Refectory

The Refectory is the perfect place to take a well-deserved lunch break. It’s somewhere you can catch up with friends and enjoy a selection of hot and cold foods (including vegetarian, vegan and halal options) in a food court-style setting.

The Whitehead Building is the home of the Department of Psychology. It’s where a lot of your academic tutors will be based, so you might find yourself heading here for regular one-to-one catch ups during their office hours. It’s also where you’ll be able to access department-specific facilities like the eye-tracking lab and forensic observation rooms.
